Acoustic Insulation…
Acoustic insulation is the process of soundproofing an enclosed space. This type of insulating activity is usually employed when there is a need to keep sound from filtering into or out of the space.
Acoustic foam reduces or eliminates echoes and background noises by controlling the reverberation that sound can make by bouncing off walls. This type of sound absorption is different than soundproofing, which is typically used to keep noise from escaping a room.
With the aid of our profiling machine and laminating plant, we have a complete range of acoustic insulation products to meet all customer demands. We offer over 500 combinations of foams, barriers, facings, profiles and self-adhesives in a sheet and cut part form.
Polyurethane facing is a resilient, flexible and durable material that resists moisture, heat and insulates walls. (available in white or black).
Foil facing is used to stop vapour or moisture while they reduce heat loss through radiation and reflecting any extra heat from another source. (Class 0 Certified).
Felt facing made of natural fibres such as wool or synthetic fibre such as acrylic it can be fire retardant. Polymeric barrier. A vinyl sound barrier mat loaded with naturally occurring minerals which are free of lead, unrefined aromatic oils and bitumen to improve sound insulation.
Glass fibre. Also known as needle mat offers uniform thickness and density, high-temperature performance up to 650 degrees and contains no binders. This material is an excellent thermal conductivity at elevated temperatures, non-toxic and exceptional sound absorption properties.
Aluminium coated glass fibre. Using a special adhesive to cover fibre cloth with aluminium foil leaves the product with an even and smooth surface. It has high reflectivity, high tensile strength, excellent sealing performance, airtight, heat insulation, is sound absorbent and waterproof.
Profiling acoustic foam sheets provide a greater surface area for increased sound absorption.
These materials can be supplied for direct to wall fixing via mechanical or spray adhesive, supplied with a peelable self-adhesive backing or with a bracket fixing on the back for suspending from the ceiling. There is an option to have melamine foam or A01 acoustic foam to be spray painted to any RAL colour or enclosed in a material cover.
Acoustafoam offers a broad range of acoustic foam products with excellent noise and sound absorption properties. Our foams meet flame retardant standards: FMVSS 302, UL94 HF1 and Class 0.
We have a wealth of knowledge in many industrial applications using our range of foams – Automotive, rail, generators, construction, air conditioning and defence to name but a few.
