Integral Skin Foam Moulding
Integral Skin Foam Moulding…
Foam Moulding have been used for many years in a wide variety of applications in a wide range of sectors. The range of profiles offers an attractive alternative to traditional materials such as wood, metal, thermoplastics and thermoset plastics.
Integral Skin PU Moulding gives you a component with a tough, flexible skin that is moulded over a softer foam core, this type of Integral Skin PU moulding is ideal for many applications including grab headrests, handles and armrests, headrests.
PU Moulding has a moulded, flexible, tear-resistant outer skin. This skin is formed during the PU moulding process and protects a microcellular foam core with a premeditated hardness.
The laminate-style structure, which gives the moulded parts their high mechanical stability and minimal weight, is created in one process from one material. The reaction mixture expands in a closed mould.
The specific temperature and pressure conditions in the mould give rise to a solid outer skin and a microporous foam core hence the name integral skin. There is a gradual change in density over the foam’s cross-section.
This single process operation allows consistent quality in a repeatable process. With the latest technology, we can offer multicolour products with ease as our injection machine carry up to four cylinders of colour. Make it a smooth and easy process reducing the production time and cost to your customers.
Commonly used for:
Armrests and occasional seating, medical components, grab handles, headrests.
