Rubber washers are used in applications that require a tight seal and those that are exposed to water, humidity or other liquids as they don’t rust.

 A grommet is a ring inserted into a hole through thin material such as fabric. Grommets are flared or collared on each side to keep them in place and are often made of metal, plastic or rubber. Grommets made of rubber or other elastic materials are also used to minimise the transmission of vibration. A seal is a device or substance that is used to join two things together so as to prevent them coming apart or to prevent anything passing between them.
